Nigel Tapper

Dr. Nigel Tapper holds a Personal Chair in Environmental Science at Monash University, Australia, where he leads the Urban Climate Research Group.  As a climate scientist, Nigel’s recent work has been in developing innovative microclimatic approaches to cool cities under extreme heat conditions. Outside the University Nigel is a Lead Author for the IPCC, serves in the World Meteorological Organisation as a climate change adaptation expert, and is President of the International Association of Urban Climate.  Nigel has published seven books, 15 book chapters and more than 200 refereed research publications in a 35-year career.
