Marco Roveda

With the aim of spreading ethical values such as human respect and environmental safeguard, Roveda founded LifeGate in 2000. His mission begins back in 1986 with the creation of Fattoria Scaldasole, a company that in just a few years became the first organic farming company in Italy. In a short period of time more than 60,000 companies, inspired by the success of Fattoria Scaldasole, begin to produce and transform organic products, taking Italy from last to first place in Europe‚Äôs organic production rank. Marco Roveda has been living near Como since 1981, in the first passive solar house ever built in Italy and designed by Roveda himself: today it is the first photovoltaic plant of the country. In 1997 he was awarded by the Milan Chamber of Commerce with the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award in the “Quality of Life” category. In 2008, the World Economic Forum in Davos awarded him the “Social Entrepreneur of the Year” award. In 2010 he became a member of the WorldShift Council on the G20 (WS20).
