Luca Stramare is responsible for and General Secretary of the (EPBP). After a degree in Chemistry from the University of Milan, Luca started his career as a Research Fellow at the Mario Negri Pharmacological Research Institute, a no profit medical and environmental research organization. He moved into plastic packaging industry in 1995, joining SIPA, a world leader company in manufacturing of machinery for PET bottle production, where he followed projects for development of PET containers for applications other than mineral water and soft drinks. In 2000 he moved to a PET resin producer, Equipolymers, a joint venture between the Dow Chemical Company and PIC. In his career at Equipolymers he held the Technical Service, Product Stewardship and Regulatory Affairs positions, becoming a known technical and regulatory reference person for the PET industry. He finally moved to COREPLA in November 2011, first as Research and Development Manager and then in its present position. In 2014 Stramare also took the role of Secretary General of the EPBP (European PET Bottle Platform). He has also contributed to many articles, guidelines, and reports.
